My First Blog Post (said to rhyme with babies new bib)

There was an Oscar Wilde quote as the template place holder. I did for a moment consider having no quote at all but then it occurred to me that a, WordPress probably know what they are doing and b, That one suits me too well not to use. As the weeks go bye you may find yourself reflecting on the truth of that statement.

So a Blog! Its been pointed out to me many times over the years that i should have one of these but never really had the juice to do it. Why not, my friends would ask, arnt you supposed to be a writer? To which i had not even a relatively funny pithy remark with which to silence them. So i would agree and without words attempt to convey the impression of deep thought on the subject. But inevitably when i returned to a keyboard other things would occupy my time.

Ok, so why now? Good question, although i suspect youve gone with ‘Who are you’ first. Well, in all honesty, i have no choice. Im about to try and sell my novel on Amazon and see if i am in fact the writer ive always claimed to myself that i am. And these days having a blog is an essential part of that. I no longer have an excuse not to. And in fairness i have something to Blog about rather than just my own ill formed opinions.

My name is Stephen Oldroyd and this blog is Called Rats Castle because for the last 32 years my nicname has been Vermin or Verms…. Which i realise is probably a worthy subject for its own blog post, but its a comic book geek thing.
