Well ok, thus far pretty underwhelming i have to admit. Although this is more down to my inability to pimp my various friends lists and blow my own horn rather than anything else. Sit on my couch and ill happily tell you how awesome i am. But that skill doesn’t transfer online, harder to add that edge of sarcasm to it.
So accepting I’m crap at these things i handed over control of my twitter account to people who know better, my kid and best friend. Then i spent an uncomfortable hour as they ignored me and began to communicate on a more millenially aware way than I’m capable of.
I had a pithy little thing i used to talk about regarding tech level. The basics being that we all reach a level of technology with which we are capable and at some point stop upgrading. My tech level is a keyboard. The moment we stopped being able to hear a keyboard clack i bowed out and the reality is these days if you cant type on glass with your thumbs you are behind the times. My daughter pointed out ‘Yeah, you are old’ as if this was the same thing.
On the plus side it guilted me into remembering i really should be doing this more regularly. Be interesting to see how long that guilt lasts.
